The Patrol Section serves as the Police Department’s largest section with over 80 sworn personnel. Considered to be the backbone of any police organization, the primary responsibility of the Officers in the Patrol Section is to respond to calls for service (911). Officers also provide a variety of additional services, including pro-active crime intervention through intelligence led policing, emergency and critical incident response, accident investigation, traffic enforcement, preliminary crime scene investigation, nuisance crimes, community problem solving, and partnerships with the community.
You can pick up an application from the front desk of the Public Safety Building at 3575 South Market Street, West Valley City, 84119. Fill out the application and return it to the same place.
Your application will be processed and you will be notified of acceptance and assigned a time and place to ride along with an officer. Applications may also be downloaded, but must be submitted in person at the Public Safety Building.
