Bicycle Safety Rodeo

Bike Safety Rodeos are designed to help educate riders about riding bicycles. These rodeos are a great benefit to children to learn about and practice safe riding practices. We encourage and invite participation in our Bike Rodeos and enjoy conducting them for the kids.

Due to the increasing popularity of Bike Safety Rodeos we have encountered issues with the time and staffing required to run them in a safe and effective manner. We ask that the leaders/adults in charge of participating groups have at least one responsible adult per 10 children in order to assist us in keeping your children safe and making for an overall fun and valuable learning experience for each and every child.

The focus of the Bike Safety Rodeo program is to increase rider safety and awareness for bicyclists. As such children must already have basic bicycle riding skills. As an essential requirement to participate we ask that children be old enough to ride a bicycle without training wheels. Please understand, safety is our number one concern. If children aren’t able to ride unassisted they may be asked to not participate.

Due to limited resources and staffing, we will be holding 3 Bike Safety Rodeos in 2016. These will be the ONLY bicycle rodeos being hosted by the WVC Police Department in 2016. Children are encouraged to bring their own bicycles and equipment or they can use the bicycles and equipment we will bring along with us. These events are open to the public, but we ask that you please complete the registration form.

Please download this participation waiver form. Every child must have one completed prior to participation in the rodeo.

We look forward to seeing you at our events! For any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us by email at
