Good Landlord Program

A landlord training program implemented by West Valley City in October 2006 requires all landlords renting property in the city to obtain and maintain a current business license.

In addition, landlords renting less than three units will be subject to disproportionate services fees; landlords renting three or more units will pay a base license fee in addition to the disproportionate services fee.

All landlords may choose to seek membership in the city’s "Good Landlord Program," which provides discounted disproportionate service fees to members. Membership requires completion of a Landlord Worksheet, eight hours of city-approved property management training, and execution of a written, binding contract with West Valley city regarding property maintenance.
