    The WVC Watch Wednesday meetings will continue monthly in 2015 on the 2nd Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm. 2015 will bring a change to the meeting format by merging with Police Chief Russo's Community Meetings. From 6:00-7:00 a presentation and discussion will be facilitated by the Neighborhood Services Office and the Police Department Community Response Unit with a focus on Eyes and Ears: What to Look For, Current Trends . (new topic monthly) From 7:00-8:00 a presentation will be made be Police Chief Russo about current trends in the city. He will end his portion of the meeting with a short Question and Answer period.

    Come run, walk or jog with your dog! Race starts at 10:30 AM - Entry Fee: $7 per dog (includes a gift for each participating dog, admission to Dog Days of Summer, Raffle Drawing & Ribbons 3 Deep) Register at the Family Fitness Center (5415 West 3100 South), by mail (must be postmarked by August 18), or day of race from 9:30AM - 10:00AM Donations to WVC Animal Shelter also appreciated at this event!

  16. Dog Days of Summer - Pooch Plunge

    August 22, 12:00 PM @ Family Fitness Center

    Noon to 3:00 PM; Small dogs only from noon to 12:30 PM (under 25 Pounds) Bring your well-behaved best friend for a dip in our pool (we'll be closing the pool following this event for our regularly-scheduled annual thorough cleaning)! Admission fee is $4.00 per dog with $1.00 going to the WVC animal shelter, OR $3.00 and an item for the WVC Animal Shelter per dog. If your best friend is a jumper, enter them in the Doggy Long Jump contest from 12:30 to 1:00pm If your best friend is a fast swimmer enter them in the Doggy Paddle Race from 1:30pm to 2:00pm Each dog will get a doggy bag of goodies and there will be raffles throughout the event. Need vaccinations for your dog? WVC Animal Shelter will be on hand for a Pet Vaccination Clinic.
