Glass Recycling Drop Off Dumpsters
Glass recycling drop off dumpsters are located throughout the city, and are open 24 hours per day:
- West Valley City Family Fitness Center- 5415 West 3100 South
- Dumpster located in West lot, south of the ball diamond
- Public Works Building- 2805 South 3600 West
- Dumpster located in south portion of parking lot
- Maverik Center North Overflow Lot - 3025 South Decker Lake Drive (2210 West)
Acceptable Glass Items:
- Glass bottles and jars
- All colors of glass are acceptable, including broken bottles and jars
- All glass must be put inside the dumpster. Do not place glass outside of the dumpster.
Unacceptable Items to put in the Glass Recycling Dumpster:
- Bags
- Boxes
- Cardboard
- Ceramics
- Dishes (bowls, plates, drinking glasses, etc.)
- Coffee pots
- Fish tanks
- Light bulbs
- Mirrors
- Pyrex
- Windows
- Windshields
West Valley City contracts with ACE Recycling and Disposal to pick up recycling material. ACE Recycling and Disposal delivers the glass recyclables to Momentum Recycling, who then recycles the glass into high-quality raw materials for making a wide range of products, including fiberglass, containers, water filters, etc.
