Code Enforcement

West Valley City Code Enforcement officers protect the quality of life within city neighborhoods by seeking compliance to West Valley City code requirements concerning exterior property maintenance.

Purpose

The purpose of ordinance enforcement is to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of West Valley City. This purpose includes protecting neighborhoods against hazardous and deteriorating conditions that contribute to the degradation of neighborhood property values.

Department Composition & Offices

The Code Enforcement division consists of an administrator, an Administrative Assistant and seven ordinance officers. The officers are liable for all complaints in their areas and enforce all city codes relating to zoning, health, building, and business licensing.

Note: The Code Enforcement offices are located at the West Valley City Community Preservation building (Animal Shelter) at 4522 W 3500 S.
