Volunteer Services Agreement

All volunteers participating in City Tree Planting events must complete a Volunteer Services Agreement (PDF).

What Trees Can Be Planted in a City Right-of-Way

Property owners may not plant any tree or shrub on a City right-of-way, or within five feet of a City right-of-way, that is a prohibited tree or shrub that is capable, through maturation of the root system or otherwise, of blocking or interfering with the use of the right-of-way or of causing damage to curb, gutter, sidewalks, or any other structure located within the right-of-way.

  • All species of Cottonwood
  • All species of Mulberry
  • All species of Poplar
  • All species of Willow
  • All varieties of bearing fruit or nut trees
  • All upright-growing conifers
  • Balm of Gilead
  • Black Locust
  • Boxelder
  • Catalpa
  • Chinese Date
  • Gambel Oak
  • May Day Tree
  • Russian Olive
  • Saskatoon Serviceberry
  • Siberian Elm
  • Silver Maple
  • Silk Tree
  • Sycamore
