My experience living in a refugee camp in the Philippines after fleeing a communist country shaped the person I am today. Those challenging years taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of standing up for others. They inspired me to become a dedicated advocate for our residents and to work tirelessly on the issues that matter most to them. Throughout my service, I have focused on finding ways to save taxpayers money while bringing meaningful improvements and lasting benefits to our community.
My love for this community is demonstrated through my actions and service. I have a genuine passion for serving our residents because of the life experiences that have shaped me - from living under a communist regime, to life in a refugee camp, to serving a mission. These experiences taught me gratitude, perseverance, and the importance of serving others. They also gave me a deep appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy and a sincere commitment to giving back to the community I am proud to call home.
Like many of our residents, I want to see West Valley City continue to thrive. My goals are to beautify our city, reduce the financial burden on families by working to prevent unnecessary property tax increases, and strengthen public safety so every resident feels safe and secure in their neighborhood, day and night.
