A kitchen remodel requires two sets of plans showing wall layout: show any walls which are going to be removed; and, show the location of all windows and electrical receptacles. All countertop space must be served by ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) and two 20 amp breakers.
Kitchen counter receptacles
No point along the wall line is more than 24 inches measured horizontally from a receptacle outlet. Island countertops 12 inches or wider shall have at least one receptacle for every 4 feet of countertop. Receptacles required within 24 inches of both sides of the kitchen sink. A 4 prong outlet shall be used for installation of a new range.
